WEBVTT

00:00.000 --> 00:01.860
Tuesday. Certified mail.

00:01.920 --> 00:05.180
Which, out here, means somebody wants something.

00:05.240 --> 00:07.560
400 acres of the Hendrick farm.

00:07.620 --> 00:11.300
“Planned unit development.” “Data processing facility.”

00:11.360 --> 00:14.900
Took me three reads to find the words that matter.

00:14.960 --> 00:18.080
So I did what you’d do. I looked it up.

00:18.140 --> 00:21.480
And oh, the internet has opinions.

00:21.540 --> 00:23.400
Some of it’s true. Some of it isn’t.

00:23.460 --> 00:25.480
And the company won’t tell me which,

00:25.540 --> 00:30.260
because the company won’t tell me anything. Not even their name.

00:30.320 --> 00:34.560
31 years I taught civics at Cooper’s Mill High.

00:34.620 --> 00:37.040
Chapter one, page one:

00:37.100 --> 00:40.860
you don’t get to vote on what you can’t see.

00:40.920 --> 00:45.380
So here’s my RSVP. Fire hall. Thursday.

00:45.440 --> 00:49.330
Bring the name. Bring the numbers. In writing.
